Benefits of using River Sand
We use a modern washing plant to wash the manufactured sand and reduce the fines content in the sand.
The reduced fines content in the river sand will allow for a higher quality concrete to be produced when using the river sand in a concrete works.
Our river sand can be used in a variety of places such as:
- Concrete mix.
- Screed mix.
- Bedding soil for pipes and paving.
- Horse arenas
Our river sand is suitable for both small scale and high spec construction projects.
River sand is produced from solid granite rock that is drilled and blasted to loosen it up and fragment it into a manageable size. The layer of material mined ranges from 8-25m deep below the surface, which provides for the high strength river sand. Once drilled and blasted the solid rock is now fragmented into particle sizes of 500mm and smaller. The material is then loaded and hauled to a crushing plant where the rock is further crushed and sized using a series of crushers, screens and washing equipment to produce a final product size of >6mm and <1.5mm.
